How to save money on groceries

Since the recent budget cuts many students are left wondering "How will I afford groceries?".

The average person spends around $112.25 a month on groceries. That's a big expense for students who aren't employeed or only are working part time. Plus you have to factor in the cost of gas for their vehicle, utilities, rent, and other personal expenses.

Well here are some easy tips on how to save on groceries:

1. Plan Ahead

2. Shop locally. You save gas & you can look in your paper for coupons.

3. Go Generic. Try to stay away from expensive name brands. Generic brands usually have the same ingredients just lower prices.

4. Eat before you buy. Don't shop on an empty stomach because usually your stomach will guide your spending.

5. Clip Coupons.
